Woodbury Public Safety offers classes and opportunities throughout the year for you to learn Infant CPR (0 to 12 months), CPR for children (1 to 8 years) and Hands-Only CPR for adults (8+ years).   In addition to free CPR classes for the public, there are certification courses non-medical personnel who need a completion card for work (daycare providers, fitness instructors, office staff, etc.).   Courses are taught by instructors using the American Heart Associations research-proven "practice-while-watching" technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide learning.  You can even learn Hands-Only CPR for adults in your own home by checking out a Hands-Only CPR Kit or by Hosting a Save Life Party.

CPR and AED
Hands-Only CPR for Adults (8+ years)
CPR for Children (1 to 8 years)

CPR classes are offered at no charge for community members ages 10 and up. Participants in the Adult classes will learn and perform the simple steps of Hands-Only CPR and how to work an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).   Participants in the Children's CPR class will learn the proper CPR technique for ages 1 to 8 years as well how to use an AED.   Both classes will also cover Response to Choking.  
Participants under the age of 13 must attend with an adult.

This free to the public class teaches the American Heart Association simplified method of CPR for infants (0 to 12 months of age).  This course is appropriate  for anyone with limited or no medical training who may be caring for your child, including: new parents, grandparents, older siblings, neighbors or babysitters.

Heartsaver® Certification Courses - Fee Based Classes
Woodbury Public Safety offers classes for non-medical personnel who require certification for their employment (daycare providers, fitness instructions, office staff, teachers).   Classes include an AHA instruction book and certification card, valid for two years).

Heartsaver® certification courses are taught on a monthly basis.  CPR and AED certification is approximately a three hour class that will include CPR training, how to use an AED, signs of a heart attack and how to relieve a choking adult.  The fee is $50 person.   CPR, AED and First Aid Training certification is an approximately four hour class and includes first aid interventions for the home and workplace as well as CPR and AED use.  The fee is $75.   You can register for these classes by following the link beow.
