Minnesota State Law requires children under age eight, unless they are 4 feet and 9 inches or taller, must be in an appropriate, federally approved child safety seat or booster seat.
The proper use of car seats is one of the simplest and most effective methods available for protecting the lives of young children in the event of a motor vehicle crash. However, according to Safe Kids Worldwide, three out of four car seats are not installed properly. Taking the time to have your child's car seat checked may save their life.
Car Seat installation requests
Woodbury Public Safety traditionally hosts a car seat installation clinic in the fall season where our Child Passenger Safety Technicians can assist residents with the proper installation of child seats. In addition, you may complete the below car seat installation request form to arrange an individual time where a Child Passenger Safety Technician will assist with the install of your car seat. These installation and checks are free and open to Woodbury residents.
Additional car seat check locations are listed on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Car Seat Check Website.
