Stormwater Irrigation Reuse Systems
A stormwater irrigation reuse system is a constructed system that captures and retains stormwater for irrigation. In Woodbury, harvested stormwater irrigates the turf and open space that is near the stormwater collection location. Stormwater irrigation reuse systems can conserve water resources and benefit surface water quality.
When an area is developed or redeveloped, there are certain stormwater requirements that need to be met. Stormwater irrigation reuse is one method of adhering to the stormwater requirements associated with development.
There are over 15 private stormwater irrigation reuse systems throughout the city, and more are being added each year. Though stormwater irrigation systems aren’t entirely supplied by potable water like a traditional irrigation system, private properties with stormwater irrigation systems are not exempt from adhering to the City’s Lawn and Landscape Watering Policy.
Meter Management Policy
In addition to adhering to the City’s Lawn and Landscape Watering Policy, private stormwater irrigation reuse systems must also adhere to the City’s Meter Management Policy.
