Garbage & Recycling
Residential / Commercial
The City of Woodbury has an open hauling system for waste and recycling. Residents and businesses are free to choose any city-licensed hauler to collect both trash and curbside mixed or "single sort" recycling pick-up. All licensed haulers must provide weekly trash removal service with a separate rate for 30, 60 and 90 gallon trash volumes. Most do so on a weekly schedule; however, biweekly collection is allowed if haulers adhere to certain conditions.

City of Woodbury Recycling Bins
The City of Woodbury provides a recycling bin for each residence. All existing homes should have a blue recycling bin and should be left with your property if you move or sell your home. Please contact your hauler to deliver a bin to your home if it is newly constructed. Additional bins can be purchased at the Public Works Building, 2301 Tower Drive, Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, for $8 each.
Many of the licensed haulers provide recycling containers to their current customers. These belong to the hauling company similar to the trash containers supplied to residents.
Recycling for Businesses
Most Twin Cities businesses are required by law to recycle. Commercial building owners that contract for 4 cubic yards or more per week of solid waste collection must implement recycling of at least three types of materials, such as paper, glass, plastic, metal and organics (e.g. food scrap and paper towels/napkins).
