Trees along a roadUrban Forest Management Plan

In 2011, the City of Woodbury completed an Urban Canopy Assessment and wrote its first Urban Canopy Plan. Within the 2040 Comprehensive Plan, the city committed to updating this assessment and planning document. This process included two main items:

  1. A geospatial analysis of total tree canopy, focusing on physical changes in the city-wide canopy, between 2009 and 2019.
  2. A review of policies, industry best practices and goals which resulted in an Urban Forest Management Plan for staff to implement.

An update to the assessment and plan was completed in 2022. Review the Urban Forest Management Plan Executive Summary (PDF) to learn more.
