Fire Suppression Permit
Woodbury uses a combination permit. General contractors pay for all permits at the time the building permit is issued. A separate fire suppression permit is issued only when there is no related building permit, or when a fire suppression system is added to a project after the building permit was issued.
A fire suppression permit is required whenever a new suppression system is installed or modifications are made to an existing system. If you are unsure if your project requires a permit, please call or email the Fire Marshal, Rick Current. Permit fees are paid at the time a permit is issued after plan review and processing.
Fire Suppression Systems shall be designed, installed and maintained in accordance with the applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard, MN State Fire Code and local city ordinances. Work shall not start until an approved set of plans are returned unless prior approval is given.
