Residential Security Survey

Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, or CPTED (pronounced "sep-ted"), is a crime prevention philosophy based on the theory that proper design and effective use of the building environment can lead to a reduction in the fear and incidence of crime, as well as an improvement in the quality of life. The Woodbury Public Safety Department provides a free home security survey for our residents. We will come to your home and provide recommendations on security improvements that may reduce the chances of you becoming the victim of a burglary.

The recommendations of surveys conducted by Woodbury Public Safety are the opinion of the surveyor on the security of the premises. The recommendations will not guarantee that your property will be "burglary, robbery or theft-proof." They will, however, reduce the probability of crime occurring on your property if properly applied and maintained. Please note that these recommendations are made for crime prevention purposes only. Items may be regulated by city, county or state code. Check the proper code or authority prior to making any changes.

This program is geared to single family residence only. Our Crime Free Multi-Housing Program covers these security questions with property managers of town home and apartment neighborhoods.
