Meet the Recruitment Team
Officer Ryan Brown was hired with the Woodbury Police Department in 2015. He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division, with supplemental assignments as a Field Training Officer, Response to Resistance Instructor and a Recruitment Officer. He has served on the Washington County Mobile Field Force team, specializing in chemical agent response and less-lethal munitions.
Prior to being hired with the Woodbury Police Department, he was a Deputy Sheriff with the Dakota County Sheriff's Office. He was assigned to the Patrol Division and served as a tactical operator on the Dakota County Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

Officer Ashley Kowarsch was hired by the Woodbury Police Department in 2017. She is currently assigned as a School Resource Officer for East Ridge High School, with supplemental assignments as a Field Training Officer, Recruitment Officer, and Child Passenger Seat Safety Coordinator.
Prior to being hired with the Woodbury Police Department, she was a Police Officer with the Forest Lake Police Department. She served on the Patrol Division, Community Outreach Unit, and Investigations Division.

Officer Kyle Myers was hired with the Woodbury Police Department in 2019. Kyle is currently assigned to the Patrol Division, with supplemental assignments as a Recruitment Officer, Police Explorer Advisor, Police Reserve Advisor, and Unmanned Aerial Surveillance Operator.
Prior to being hired as a Police Officer, he was a Police Explorer, Police Reserve Officer, and Community Service Officer with the Woodbury Police Department, as well as a Police Reserve Officer and Community Service Officer with the Bayport Police Department. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and attended Alexandria Technical and Community College to complete his SKILLS certification.

Officer Karla Santos was hired with the Woodbury Police Department in 2019. She is currently assigned to the Patrol Division, with supplemental assignments as a Recruitment Officer, Police Explorer Advisor, Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee Liaison, and is a member of the Washington County Mobile Field Force team.
Prior to being hired as a Police Officer with the Woodbury Police Department, she was a Reserve Officer with the South Saint Paul Police Department. Officer Santos is a veteran of the Army National Guard and is bilingual, speaking English and fluent Spanish.
