The city is renovating and expanding Central Park and is seeking input from the public through interactive workshops. The project will address the 20-year-old indoor facility's overdue maintenance needs, renovate existing spaces, and add new programming spaces.
Engagement activities took place in 2022 and earlier to determine the scope of the project and get a feel for the community's needs and desires for the building. These additional engagement efforts will focus on prioritizing programming and how spaces are designed to best meet recreational programming, facility user and renter needs. The groups will evaluate current program offerings and potential additions to programming and will then review the proposed additional spaces and seek feedback on how designs can best meet these needs. Note that future efforts will focus on the indoor playground.
