Central Park set to close for renovation

Central Park Bridge

For more than 20 years, Central Park has been a place to play, connect, learn and have fun. However, after two decades, the facility needs significant updates so that it can continue to attract visitors for years to come.

Construction is set to begin soon. While the park area, indoor playground, county offices, school district spaces and walkways to Stonecrest Senior Living and the YMCA will not be accessible, Washington County’s RH Stafford Library is expected to remain open throughout the duration of the project.

Construction Closures

Lookout Ridge Playground will be open through normal business hours on Thursday, Feb. 29. Beginning March 1, the playground will be closed to prepare for construction activities.

The remainder of the facility will be open through normal business hours Sunday, March 31. Beginning April 1, the main doors to Central Park will be closed and guests will be able to access the library through a new temporary door on the northwest side of the building, facing Kowalski’s Market. Signage will be posted.

Central Park is anticipated to reopen in fall 2025. We appreciate your patience during construction!
