Redistricting in Woodbury: What you need to know

Redistricting Map Image

Congressional and state legislative boundaries in Woodbury have been updated through the redistricting process.

Redistricting is required after each U.S. census to make the election districts more equal in population. The Minnesota Special Redistricting Panel released the congressional and legislative redistricting plan on Feb.15, 2022. Some residents will have a new precinct boundary and voting location.

The new Redistricting Plan places the City of Woodbury in two congressional districts, 4 and 2 (formally 4). For the state and legislative districts, the city remains in one senate district 47 (renamed from 53) and two legislative districts 47A and 47B (renamed from 53A and 53B), although the boundaries of the legislative districts have changed. The breakout of the districts is as follows:

  • Woodbury Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 – State Senate 47; Legislative District 47A; Congressional District 4
  • Woodbury Precincts 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 16 – State Senate 47; Legislative District 47B; Congressional District 4
  • Woodbury Precincts 14 and 15 – State Senate 47, Legislative District 47B; Congressional District 2

You can also use the Polling Place Finder on the Secretary of State’s website to find your voting location; this is anticipated to be updated with redistricting information by mid-May, 2022.  Residents will receive notice indicating their precincts and polling locations from Washington County.
