Each year, hundreds of people volunteer in city-sponsored programs alone. These volunteers are improving our community by adopting a park, serving on an advisory board, or becoming a member of the Police Reserve Program. Volunteers collect water samples from city lakes, patrol our parks and trails, assist with recreation programs, and much more.
In April each year, the city publicly recognizes Woodbury residents who improve community life through their volunteer work. This is done in conjunction with Volunteer Recognition Week, which is observed on both a state and national level during April.
The city's volunteer programs include:
- Chaplaincy Corps
- Police and Fire Explorers
- Police Reserves
- Advisory Commissions
- Lake Monitoring
- Storm Drain Marking
- Woodbury Public Safety Board
In addition to the ongoing programs, there are many volunteer opportunities for specific events. To inquire about volunteer opportunities in the city, contact Human Resources at firstname.lastname@example.org.
