Minnesota Night to Unite is observed annually on the first Tuesday of August. The event is designed to promote local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnership, and heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
Each year we invite and encourage neighbors to observe Minnesota Night to Unite by holding block parties and neighborhood get-togethers. A great addition to your Night to Unite party on August 6, 2019 would be a visit from Public Safety. Just use the link below to request that Public Safety personnel stop by.
Back to School Gift Card Drive
Even though summer is in full swing on Night to Unite, Woodbury Public Safety will be thinking about Back to School. During Night to Unite, staff will be collecting grocery gift cards, Target and Walmart Gift Cards and fuel-only gift cards. The cards will provide much needed resources to families in Woodbury and throughout South Washington County. They will be distributed through the public safety department and local schools.
Staff will collect the donated cards from block parties visited by Public Safety personnel on Night to Unite. They also can be dropped off at the Woodbury Public Safety Building at 2100 Radio Drive between the hours of 8 to 4:30 p.m, Monday through Friday.
Reminders for neighborhood block parties:
- You do not need to register your Night to Unite block party but you may request a visit from Public Safety personnel. Due to the number of events, we are not able to establish a specific time for our visit.
- If you are blocking off any roadways for your block party, please do so with temporary, easy to remove items such as saw horses or caution tape. The area must still allow access to emergency vehicles and residents that are not participating.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 651-714-3600 with questions regarding block parties or Minnesota Night to Unite.
Night to Unite is sponsored by the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association, AAA of Minnesota/Iowa, and local law enforcement agencies.
