Minnesota Night to Unite is observed annually on the first Tuesday of August. Due to precautions related to large gatherings, this year's Minnesota Night to Unite will be held the first Tuesday of October (Oct. 6). The event is designed to promote local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnership, and heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.
Each year we invite and encourage neighbors to observe Minnesota Night to Unite by holding block parties and neighborhood get-togethers. A great addition to your Night to Unite party on October 6, 2020 would be a visit from Public Safety. Please check back for the link to request public safety staff to visit your Night to Unite celebration.
Reminders for neighborhood block parties:
- You do not need to register your Night to Unite block party but you may request a visit from Public Safety personnel. Due to the number of events, we are not able to establish a specific time for our visit.
- Per city code, Chapter 15, Nuisances, Section-2 Illustrative enumeration (b)(11), roadways cannot be blocked. If you choose to cordon off any portion of a street, barriers must be placed as such to allow for emergency vehicles and residents needing access to the area.
Contact email@example.com or call 651-714-3600 with questions regarding block parties or Minnesota Night to Unite.
Night to Unite is sponsored by the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association, AAA of Minnesota/Iowa, and local law enforcement agencies.
Requests for Public Safety attendance on dates other than Night to Unite should be requested at least two weeks prior to your event and will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Staff will confirm availability five days before your event. Please do not use the link below to request a Night to Unite visit.
