Winter Wonderland and Carnival: Celebration of the opening of the outdoor refrigerated ice rink at HealthEast Sports Center. Activities include ice skating, seasonal music, tree lighting and a penny carnival games with trinket prizes. This event takes place late November or early December.
Cookies and Crafts with Santa: Santa takes a break from making toys to join the youth of Woodbury in decorating cookies, making a fun holiday craft and taking pictures. This event takes place on the first Saturday morning in December.
How to Prepare for Santa's Arrival: Mrs. Claus and her helpers will help prepare little one's homes for Santa's arrival by decorating a stocking, making reindeer food, creating a ornament and drawing a letter to Santa. This event takes place on the second Saturday morning in December.
Family New Year's Eve Celebration: We fill HealthEast Sports Center with fun inflatables, huge moonwalks, obstacle courses, bingo, ice skating, music and so much more to make this evening a fun night for all! Door prize drawings are held at 8:30 p.m. followed by the big countdown. Geared towards families with children under 12.
Central Bark Pet Expo: Puppies, kitties, and birdies, oh my! Attendees will be able to meet with a variety of organizations and learn more about local pet opportunities. This event typically takes place on a Saturday morning in February.
Spring seasonal events take place between March and May.
Family Bingo: Enjoy playing a variety of bingo games along with a themed treat. This event happens one Sunday a month, January-April.
Egg Hunt
s: Choose from five different egg hunts! Our Adaptive egg hunt is a hunt just for our friends with physical and cognitive challenges. Our Playground Egg Hunt is a quaint and controlled egg hunt for ages 1-4. Our Excellent Egg Frenzy is our community wide free egg hunt for ages up to 7 years old and our Flashlight Egg Hunt takes place outside in the dark! All egg hunts take place two Saturdays before the Easter holiday.
Bonfire, Build, Bows and Bait: Adults and children will learn the basic skills of archery, unleashing their new skills with real and NERF bows, tackle the skill of fishing and make s'mores at the bonfire. Youth participants will also build a cool vehicle out of LEGO bricks to take home. This event takes place on a Saturday afternoon in May.
Summer seasonal events take place between June and August.
Puppet Wagon Preview Party: Catch a peek of the new puppet show, play games, create a personal puppet, munch on popsicles and more! This event takes place on an evening within the first full week of June.
Puppet Wagon: The Puppet Wagon travels around Woodbury neighborhoods and parks performing puppet shows filled with music and silly puppets! Performances are about 7 minutes long and participants can play with the puppets afterwards.
Kids Mud Run: Climb, crawl, slide and run your way through muddy and wet obstacles! This three-fourth of a mile course is sure to get you messy! This event takes place on a Saturday morning in late May or early June.
Carver Lake Campout: A camp out right in town! The evening includes numerous activities to participate in throughout the evening and the following morning. Dinner, campfire treats and a continental breakfast will be provided. This event typically takes place on the last Friday in June.
4th of July Hometown Celebration: Celebrate the 4th of July at Woodbury’s annual Hometown Celebration. The festivities include a band, inflatables, food trucks and fireworks at HealthEast Sports Center.
Coin Carnival: A penny carnival event with games and prizes, a bounce house, temporary tattoos, crazy hair, Puppet Wagon shows and lunch. This event takes place at HealthEast Sports Center on a Friday in July.
Kids Duathlon: Bike and run to test your endurance in a duathlon! Youth bike two miles and run one mile along the trails of Ojibway Park. This event typically takes place on a Saturday morning in July.
Tiny Tot Triathlon: A triathlon set up just for our tinniest triathletes! Participants bike on their own tricycle, bicycle, Strider, or similar self-pushed riding item on a cleared path; run, walk or skip down a length of path, splash into our splash pad and end with dash to the finish line. This event takes place on the first Saturday morning of August.
Starlight Cinema Outdoor Movie Nights: An epic outdoor movie series, featured on a two-story inflatable screen with stadium speakers! This event takes place on various Thursday evenings at Lake Middle School.
Fall seasonal events take place between September and November.
Kids Mission Glo Run: A run in the dark-sweet! Participants are given race shirts prior to the start that GLO along with items to wear to LIGHT IT UP! Neon signs guide runners on the approximate one mile route. After the run, participants test their agility and ninja skills in the laser beam maze. This run takes place on a Saturday evening in September.
Big Truck Day: The Central Park parking lot is filled with the coolest vehicles around for youth to explore the insides and outsides. This event takes place on the last Saturday in September.
Halloween Hoopla: Come dressed in your best costume for an afternoon of family fun with "Trunk or Treating", searching for and decorating mini pumpkins, crafts, photo booth and cookies and cider. Those who come in costume might win prizes from our secret judge! This event typically takes place the Saturday afternoon before Halloween.
