July 14 officer involved shooting

Woodbury, Minnesota - Washington County Sheriff's Office Dispatch received a 911 call at 11:31. The caller told dispatchers that he was having homicidal feelings, stating that he "wants to die," and repeatedly said, "Come kill me." Officers were dispatched to the 7000 block of Highpoint Rd. at 11:34. They arrived in the area at 11:41, radioed that they were making contact with the suspect at 11:43 where they found him walking outside near or on the street. The suspect took a shooting stance directed towards officers. Less lethal munitions were deployed as well as lethal rounds, striking the suspect.

The suspect was transported to Regions Hospital. At the time of this statement, his condition was listed as stable.

The officers involved in the incident were not injured.

Woodbury detectives are working with the BCA- gathering evidence and conducting interviews. The suspects name will not be released at this time. Further details will come from the BCA as they work through the investigation.
