Start saving water this summer: Purchase a discounted Smart Irrigation Controller through the City of Woodbury

Based on the success of a 2016 pilot program, the City of Woodbury, with funding assistance from the South Washington Watershed District (SWWD), is building on the Smart Irrigation Controller Program in 2017.

The city has purchased 275 Rachio 8-zone (2nd Generation) controllers that can be purchased by single-family homeowners (residents of Woodbury) who currently use traditional clock-based controllers for a discounted rate of $25 (retail value $199). In addition, the city is adding a second controller to compare the success seen with Rachio. There will be 25 Skydrop 8-zone smart irrigation controllers available to homeowners who wish to try this model at the same discounted cost of $25 (retail value $299). The Skydrop controller has the capability of controlling more than 8-zones with the addition of the expansion module. The expansion module is the resident's responsibility to purchase and install ($30 on Amazon). When applying, you will be prompted to indicate which controller you prefer.
